Galvanizing

Docking:
The material to be galvanized is hooked to the sling by tying with wire.

Robbery-pickling
The material is immersed in vats containing the solution of degreasing - pickling.

Prefluxing
The material is immersed in the tanks prefluxing to remove the solution of degreasing - pickling.

Flushing
The material is immersed in the hot happy solution flushing.

Preheating
The material is dried and heated in an oven at 120 °C.

Galvanizing
The material is immersed in the bath of molten zinc, in this phase are formed alloy layers Ferrozinco and the pure zinc coating.

Passivation
The pieces are dipped galvanized still hot in the passivating solution free of hexavalent chromium, that allows the material to maintain luster classical given by galvanizing.

Cooling
The galvanized material is allowed to cool to room temperature without any type of aid.

Release
The galvanized material is cooled and released from the sling.

Storage
The finished product is stored on the square outside.

The presence of silicon in the metal base can give thicker coatings with opaque color dark gray.

The silicon tends to accelerate growth of the layer of zinc-iron alloys giving origin to a coating consisting mostly of alloys, with presence or absence of a thin layer of zinc on the outside. The corrosion resistance of the layer of zinc-iron alloys is equivalent to that of zinc.

The phosphorus based coatings can cause non-uniform dull gray.

The duration of protection against corrosion, provided by a coating of hot dip galvanizing (whether it is bright gray or matte gray) is approximately proportional to the thickness of it; it depends mainly on the conditions of exposure in rural, industrial or marine, it is estimated an average consumption of 0.8 to 1.2 microns / year.

The duration of the hot-dip galvanizing may be reduced if the workpiece held by it is laid, without adequate protections, in an acid, alkaline or anyway aggressive for zinc, or if the workpiece is influenced by electrical fields in direct current (stray current), irrespective of the characteristics of the medium environment (soil, water) of pose.
